American teen arrested for “shooting” – CNN reported on November 2 on the progress of the shocking incident during the Halloween festival in the United States after a 17-year-old boy opened fire in downtown Orlando, Florida, which was full of people celebrating Halloween on the evening of October 31.
The incident resulted in two deaths and six injuries. The perpetrator was arrested and charged with two counts of intentional murder and six counts of attempted intentional murder.
The University of Central Florida said one of the victims was a student. “Our hearts are filled with sadness at this senseless act of violence that left another student injured and affected many students celebrating Halloween and those in the vicinity of the incident,” the university said in a statement.
The latest gun violence occurred just blocks from the Pulse nightclub shooting in June 2016, which killed 49 people and injured more than 50, and was the 27th mass shooting in Florida this year, according to the Gun Violence Archive, a US nonprofit research organization.
