A knife-wielding burglar named Gregory McCalium broke into the home of 72-year-old Frank Corti, a retired boxer, after a dispute over noise.
On August 19, 2021, McCalium attacked Corti by lunging at him with the knife.
However, Corti, who was once a junior boxing champion, quickly defended himself with powerful punches, leaving McCalium severely injured.
Corti managed to restrain the burglar until the police arrived at the scene. McCalium was later convicted of aggravated burglary and received a sentence of four and a half years in prison.
During the court hearing, the judge emphasized that vulnerable individuals, like Corti, deserve protection from harm.
Corti, on the other hand, stated that he would not hesitate to defend himself again if the situation ever called for it. This incident highlights the importance of self-defense and the protection of one’s home and safety.
