An elderly woman walks for hours to see her newborn grandson, only for her son to refuse her entry

Amelia’s heart ached as she listened to her son, Mark, on the phone.

“Mom, I can’t pick you up. I have errands for Camilla, and people are coming over. We’ll plan another time to meet the baby,” he said. Disappointment washed over her, but seeing her grandson for the first time felt too important to reschedule.

With no bus to Mark’s home and a taxi out of the question, Amelia decided to make the journey on foot. With her walker, a purse, and a bag of gifts, she walked for five long hours, pushing through pain and exhaustion, driven by love.

When she finally arrived and rang the doorbell, her heart raced with excitement. But as the door swung open, Mark stood there, furious. He grabbed her arm.

“What are you doing here?” he snapped. “Surprise!” she said, breathless but hopeful. “I walked all this way to see my grandson!” Mark coldly responded, “I don’t care. Leave. Now.”
