Reflecting on the loss, he said, “It’s just a thing, but it’s obviously devastating and emotional. We had lived there for a long time.” He shared that the house was full of personal items he cherished but can’t replace, including photos, files, clothing, and sentimental belongings collected over the years.

Despite the loss, Gibson maintained a positive outlook, emphasizing that possessions can be replaced and that his loved ones are safe.

He even managed to crack jokes about the situation, saying, “I’ve been relieved from the burden of my stuff because it’s all in cinders,” and humorously added, “At least I don’t have any more pesky plumbing problems!”

There was one silver lining—his chickens survived the fire. “It was amazing. We checked the chicken coop, and they were fine. We gave them grain and water, and now they’re happy and laying eggs,” he said with a laugh, adding, “Thankfully, they weren’t roast chickens.”

The wildfire, which began during a severe Santa Ana windstorm, has burned over 21,000 acres in Los Angeles and is only partially contained. It’s one of several wildfires currently raging in the area.
